many years.

We spoke about what a songs could do for the 9/11 Truth movement if we could get them heard. We spoke about the psychological resistance to re-opening one’s mind after the corporate media has implanted an official story with trauma-based
conditioning. Andy had some humor, good observations, and a masterful
command of the scientific facts about the 9/11 attacks. This was done on a cell-phone in the Berkeley hills, and it fades at the very end. I got a land line later, and the sound was much better when I did an interview with Kevin Barrett​ on MLK Day 2015.

I promoted the NCA911 Truth Alliance film festival which was upcoming in Sept 2014. Both of these gentlemen were gracious hosts. I also had recently done an interview with Bev Collins​ in Canada that was lots of fun. This interview I did with Andy Steele has its own unique character, , and I am very grateful for Andy and AE911Truth giving me such an opportunity to express myself about what I have learned about 9/11, what I try to do with music , video, blogs, and event

James Corbett plays part of "The Ballad of William Rodriguez". The way that song happened was that Vic was invited to sing at the July 2005 "Truth Emergency Convergence" in Washington, DC. "Mad Cowboy Disease" and "Are You A Citizen Or Are You A Slave" were a couple of Vic's 9/11 Truth themed songs. They were first sung at American University and in Lafayette Square across from the White House. Vic met David Slesinger and David suggested that Vic interview Willie and write a ballad to tell his story. Willie was head janitor of the World Trade Center and jumped into rescue mode after he heard explosions in the basement below him. His fellow WTC worker and friend Felipe was burned in the elevator shaft. Felipe came into the Maintenance office with burned skin hanging from his face and arms and shouting "Explosion! Explosion!" Vic and Willie did the interview over the phone. Vic and Willie met on Sept 11, 2005 in New York City when Vic sang and Willie spoke at the 9/11 Truth rally at UN Plaza and again later at St Mark's Church with Father Frank Morales. "Cheney's in the Bunker" came soon after while reading a David Ray Griffin book, "The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions & Distortions".

Cheney's in the Bunker - Songwriter Cites Footnotes to Scholarly Research on the Crimes of 9/11/01

Cheney's in the Bunker was written in 2005 by Vic Sadot after reading page 201 of David Ray Griffin's critique of the official conspiracy story released in 2004. The 9/11 Commission Report told a story of 19 named Muslims who had allegedly been able to overcome the trillion dollar US intelligence and military apparatus to hijack 4 jets; to take down 3 World Trade Center buildings with 2 planes; to crash another jet in rural Pennsylvania fields; and to attack the US central military command's accounting department at the Pentagon a day after Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and Pentagon Comptroller Dov Zackheim declared on 9/10/01 "a war on the bureaucracy" to find the missing 2.3 trillion dollars!

There is much to say about 9/11, but here in this "Truth Troubadour" blog in this 16th year of prodigious research and reports that have been published by world class scholars, let us focus for a moment on the Vice President who was in the Presidential bunker at some very disputed time on the morning of 9/11/01. David Ray Griffin is professor emeritus at Claremont School of Theology. The professor is a master logician and detective. Plus, he's articulate, genial, and funny! The opposite image of Alex Jones to brand the 9/11 Truth movement with. Thanks to folks like David Ray Griffin, I overcame my fears, and cited him as the source of my information, and released this song in a public way on 9/11/11 on a CD titled "9/11 Truth & Justice Songs". Janice Mathews was a key organizer of a conference called the D.C. Emergency Truth Convergence on July 22 and 23, 2005 that my brother Rob and I got invited to sing for at American University. I sang at a 9/11 Truth rally in Lafayette Square across from the White House too. I sang "Mad Cowboy Disease" and "Are You A Citizen Or Are You A Slave" for the first time ever. I met a lot of great researchers, authors, and video makers that weekend!

Janice Mathews gave me a copy of David Ray Griffin's new book "The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions & Distortions". The Joint Congressional Committee had released it's report in 2002 minus "28 pages" said to be top secret, and the 9/11 Commission released its report written by Philip Zelikow in 2004. So Griffin was able to effectively debunk the narrative in short order.

When I read about the completely "omitted testimony" of Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta, the information fairly jumped off the page at me! This calls for a song! Mineta describes how "a young man" kept asking Vice President Cheney, at intervals of 50, 30, and 10 miles, as he reported to Cheney that a plane was heading toward Washington, DC, the young officer asked, "Do the orders still stand?" By the third time, Mineta says, "Cheney whipped his neck around and said, "Of course the orders still stand! Have you heard anything to the contrary?"

It left us all wondering what the orders were, a shoot down or a stand down?

For years the truth seeking world wondered who this unnamed "young man" Mineta mentioned in his omitted testimony actually was? Researchers eventually determined that he was Naval Aide Douglas Cochrane - See 911 Blogger. But when he was pressed to answer questions by journalists, he simply deferred to the 9/11 Commission Report as the final authority on the subject. Those who failed were all rewarded and promoted.

Thanks to the movie 9/11 In the Academic Community, we now know that 25% of the footnotes in that cover-up report came from Zelikow's use of torture "testimony"! 
Nobody at the Pentagon was warned or evacuated! This results in no demotions, reprimands, firings, or law suits? (Note: April Gallop's law suit was dismissed without being heard!) Nothing but praise and promotions for those who failed to protect the now deceased at military headquarters?

Here at this 16th year of research and reports, the official story has been proven to be just as David Ray Griffin described it in an article titled The 9/11 Commission Report: A 571-Page Lie by David Ray Griffin, May 22, 2005, that was posted at www.911Truth.org 

Dr. Griffin led off with this: "In discussing my second 9/11 book, The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions, I have often said, only half in jest, that a better title might have been “a 571-page lie.” (Actually, I was saying “a 567-page lie,” because I was forgetting to count the four pages of the Preface.) In making this statement, one of my points has been that the entire Report is constructed in support of one big lie: that the official story about 9/11 is true. Another point, however, is that in the process of telling this overall lie, The 9/11 Commission Report tells many lies about particular issues. This point is implied by my critique’s subtitle, “Omissions and Distortions.” Then Dr. Griffin said, "I now list (of 115 Lies cited) the omissions and claims of The 9/11 Commission Report that I, in my critique of that report, portrayed as lies." 

"Cheney's in the Bunker" was inspired and informed by the exposure of Lie #85, which David Griffin describes as: "The omission of Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta’s testimony, given to the Commission itself, that Vice-President Cheney and others in the underground shelter were aware by 9:26 that an aircraft was approaching the Pentagon (p.220).

Why wouldn't we want to base our opinions on evidence and truth? 4. The full quote of Vice President Cheney by Norman Mineta was actually, “Of course the orders still stand. Have you heard anything to the contrary?” Commissioner Timothy Roemer did ask Mineta what he “assumed” the orders were. 12. Mineta testimony excluded from the final report, Griffin, p 221. There are so many other omissions and distortions that you could write a book about it. In fact, a number of people have produced very credible works as part of a global research effort by such authors as Michael Chossudovsky, Thierry Meyssan, Nafeez Ahmed, Michael Ruppert, Wayne Madsen, Eric Hufschmid, Peter Lance, and Paul Thompson to name just a few. Several of the most notable omissions by this Commission would have to include the three and a half hours of testimony and documentation presented by FBI translator and whistleblower, Sibel Edmonds, who was put under a gag order, WTC janitor and rescue hero William Rodriguez’s testimony that there were explosions at the core of the North Tower where he worked that he heard while he helped explosion burn victim, Felipe David, to safety outside and returned to the building to save others twice, and much of Richard Clarke’s testimony, The National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism for the Clinton and G.W. Bush administrations.

The book that persuaded me that the story being told by the corporate media was a pack of lies was David Ray Griffin's book, "The 9/11 Commission: Omissions & Distortions". The song, "Cheney's in the Bunker", came out of that book, the part about Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta's testimony being omitted from the final report. Mineta said that a young officer in the White House bunker reported the approach of a jet towards Washington at intervals of 50, 30, and 10 miles out, and that each time he asked Vice President Dick Cheney, "Do the orders still stand?"

It was an honor to perform songs for that July 2005 DC Emergence Truth gathering! On 9/11/05 I was in New York City singing at a rally at Dag Hammarskold Plaza. In DC in July, David Slesinger had suggested that I write a folk song about William Rodriguez, and he suggested I interview him over the phone. He handed me Willie's phone number and I did exactly as he had suggested. Then I got to meet Willie and sing that song at the 9/11/05 rally and at St Mark's Church of the Bowery a second time. But the sobs and the statements made by Donna Marsh O'Connor at the U.N are something that really made me understand how traumatizing the event was for those who lost family. She had lost her pregnant daughter Vanessa, and she wanted to know where were "the men in the suits" to stand with her to get answers to her questions about the 9/11 attacks. Statement of Ken O'Keefe: "I am not surprised that the Orwellian TSA (Homeland Security) have denied me the ability to board a flight from LAX to Acapulco because I opted out of the body scanner procedure. I refused this as an ex-US Marine who has been given experimental injections and pills during the 1st Gulf War (along with 600,000 other American sons and daughters), these experimental drugs being administered without informed consent due to a “waiver’ provided by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) of the US Government. Many have died from ‘Gulf War Syndrome’ due to these experimental drugs, essentially many have been murdered by the FDA and US Military who ordered American sons and daughters to take experimental drugs. I have in the past always opted out of the body scanner and agreed (under duress) to a physical body search, today I once again agreed to this under duress but again was told I MUST SUBMIT TO A BODY SCAN OR BE DENIED THE ABILITY TO TRAVEL/FLY. I have refused these terms, which inherently mean radiating myself with their dangerous body scanners."
