Nuclear Heartland USA video of Nukewatch John LaForge published to YouTube

“Nuclear HeartlandUSA” was published to “Social Justice in the Heart of Berkeley” You Tube Channel on March 29, 2017 by Vic Sadot. 

Nuclear Heartland, the book, was first published in 1988. John LaForge of Nukewatch updated and republished a 2015 report on the status of land-based nuclear silos in the United States. He presented a power-point lecture on the book and the nuclear weapons abolition movement. 

John LaForge of Nukewatch was accompanied on this speaking tour with German nuclear abolitionist activist Marion Küpker, who represents GAAA, Gewaltfreie Aktion Atomwaffen Abschaffen (GAAA, Nonviolent Action to Abolish Nuclear Weapons). It is a German organisation dedicated to the total abolition of nuclear weapons. Since many of us had not heard that a historic vote in the UN General Assembly was coming up on Oct 27, 2016, we learned about it from John LaForge. The vote was overwhelming to make 2017 the year to push the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty forward through UN sponsored conferences: 123 In Favor; 38 Against; 16 Abstentions. The vote was something of an act of defiance toward the Security Council, and almost all nuclear-armed powers voted no, with some notable abstentions. The mainstream media buried the story as if it was not a significant event in human history!

Cynthia Jean Johson welcomed everyone to Historic Fellowship Hall in Berkeley. Author-activist Cecile Pineda did the introduction of John LaForge of Nukewatch. BFUU Social Justice Committee activists Ingrid Kepler-May and James Beatty appear in the Q&A session. Ingrid Kepler-May is in the Q&A segment at around 49:10 of the 58 minute video. She is in a discussion with speaker John LaForge about the effects of US use of depleted uranium in weapons and armor, particularly how it contaminates the environment and causes birth defects in Iraqi babies. Ingrid witnessed these results first-hand on a visit to hospitals in Iraq. The 58 minutes video was made by Vic Sadot from an audio recording by David Yandle of a John LaForge NukeWatch Book Update presentation by John in Fellowship Hall, Berkeley, CA on Oct. 13, 2016. The vote was presaged by John LaForge on Oct 13, 2016 in Berkeley. We include that with the advantage of releasing the video in late March 2017 as the US, UK, and other nuclear powers were actually boycotting the talks, and instead planning new attacks on Syria, and blaming the Russians for hacking the last US election. Did your media even cover the crucial talks to ban nuclear weapons from the Earth? Next round is in July! Make them negotiate nuclear disarmament like they were doing before GW unilaterally withdrew the US from the ABM Treaty with Russia! Making the Middle East a Nuclear Weapons Free Zone is one of the immediate goals of many nuclear abolition activists.

It was a stunning and memorable update presentation by John LaForge to celebrate the 2015 re-publication of “Nuclear Heartland”! The book was first published in 1988 to let Americans know where the nuke silos are, and that they make you less secure in contradiction of the stated nuclear “deterrence” goal. This only becomes apparent after you understand the war profiteering and the unacceptable risks involved in nuclear radiation, and the climate of fear needed to promote the arms race.

Let us celebrate the 2012 MLK DAY with the Truth from the Trial won by the King Family in 1999 in Mephis, Tennessee, the scene of the crime.

As Project Censored states it, we are in a crisis that may well be described as a "Truth Emergency". This has been a deep problem for US society for many years. However, it most certainly got accelerated after the exploitation of the 9/11 attacks to promote war, and a new wave of repressive laws named in Orwellian fashion as the so-called "Patriot Act" and "indefinite detention" in the National Defense Authorization Act signed by President Obama on New Year's Eve 2012.

Are you aware that the King family took a civil suit into a Memphis court in 1999 with William Pepper as their lawyer? They presented numerous witnesses who had been steadfastly avoided by the Memphis police and government investigators. Are you aware of any of the following information? If not, why not? If yes, will you be getting this information out as part of your 2012 observance of the life and legacy of Martin Luther King? Read on please...

William Pepper is a legendary American author, British barrister, and King family lawyer. Martin Luther King contacted William Pepper after reading an article Pepper had written in Ramparts magazine about the effects of the Vietnam War on the children of Vietnam. He invited Pepper to speak to his congregation, which was the beginning of a life-long friendship with MLK and his family. William Pepper continued to investigate the assassination of MLK for years, and he represented the King family in court.

The King family and William Pepper got considerable criticism in the mainstream press for stating that they did not believe that James Earl Ray was the killer of King. In 1999 they won a trial in a Memphis, Tennessee court from a jury of six whites and six blacks. They won a unanimous conviction of Loyd Jowers and “unnamed government conspirators” for the murder of Martin Luther King. King was executed in broad daylight at the Lorraine Motel on April 4, 1968. Jowers was the owner of Jim’s Grill across the street from the Lorraine Motel where some of the assassination planning was done. Jowers and waitresses from that era gave testimony in the 1999 trial that persuaded the American jury that there was a “conspiracy” to execute Dr King. William Pepper later wrote a book about the trial and the lack of fair or even any media coverage in the case of their victory. William Pepper’s book is called “An Act of State: The Execution of Martin Luther King”.

One way to be true to the dream and the commitment of the Rev Dr King would be to get this information out into the sunlight of public discussion as part of this year's celebration of who he really was! He would be marching stalwartly on Obama's White House and on the now Republican-controlled Congress. The book is in public libraries. In truth we shall be free and overcome.

“9/11 Truth & Justice Songs” CD Released by Vic Sadot on 10^th Anniversary of 9/11

The official release date for Vic Sadot's “9/11 Truth & Justice Songs” CD was 9/11/11. Vic sang some of the songs in the street at the “Take Back Gandhi's 9/11” march. The march was part of the Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance's 10^th Anniversary observations of the terror attacks in the United States that remain in need of a genuine forensic criminal investigation. There was an annual film festival that began in Oakland at the Grand Lake Theater on Sept 8 and in San Francisco on Sept 11. The rally on September 11 began at the Mahatma Gandhi Statue in San Francisco up Market Street to the Civic Center and the historic Herbst Theater.

9/11/11 was also the date that Vic launched a new web site featuring the new CD, links to past releases, and links to blogs and video sites.

“9/11 Truth & Justice Songs” CD has 16 songs that relate to the many remaining questions about those horrific events of “shock and awe” and the offical conspiracy story that was told about 19 Muslims with box cutters led by a man on a dialysis machine somehow coordinating the massive attacks from a cave. Some of Sadot's songs correlate to certain books that inspired them. “Cheney's in the Bunker” came from reading David Ray Griffin's monumental “The 9/11 Commission: Omissions & Distortions” in which he reported the omitted testimony of Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta on his recollections from being in the White House bunker with Dick Cheney. “Blowback or Bloody Treason” was written after reading Michael Ruppert's “Crossing the Rubicon”. Ruppert was a former Los Angeles detective, and he believed that 9/11 should be subjected to standard criminal investigation procedures with a view to who had the means, motive, opportunity, and stood to benefit from the crimes. “Trouble in the Rubble” came from reading an Associated Press article on the 9/11 rescue dogs by Amy Westfeldt. It was run in the Washington Post on Oct 20, 2006. It states that many of the rescue dogs who worked at the WTC after 9/11 had their feet burned by “white-hot debris”. The reporter did not question or explain how this came to be. While it is consistent with other reports of pools of molten steel still being “white-hot” many weeks after the disintegration of 3 of the World Trade Center towers, it is not consistent with the official story that the towers fell into rubble as a result of jet fuel fires.

1 Ballad of William Rodriguez (5:18) - Based on a 2005 interview Vic did with WTC janitor Willie Rodriguez about his experience on the day of 9/11/01, for which he became a natianally acclaimed rescue hero. His testimoney to the 9/11 Commission that he heard explosions below sub level one before the towers were hit by a jet above was excluded.

2 Cheney's in the Bunker (4:49) – A song inspired by Secretary of Transportation, Norman Mineta's testimony, which was

omitted from the final 9/11 Commission report. A young man was repeatedly asking Vice President Cheney, "Do the orders still stand?" Mineta said that he arrived in the Presidential Bunker at 9:20 am where he found Cheney in charge and had already issued some orders. The 9/11 Commission report claims that Cheney did not arrive until 9:58 am.

3 Blowback or Bloody Treason (6:19) – Inspired by former LA detective Michael Ruppert's 2004 book, “Crossing the Rubicon", which asked the standard crime scene questions: Who had the means, motive, and opportunity? And who stood to benefit from the crime? “Blowback” is a term used to describe retaliation for US policies.

4 Trouble in the Rubble (5:30) – Written after reading an Associated Press article by Amy Westfeldt in the Oct 20, 2006 Washington Post about a “scientific study” claiming that 9/11 rescue dogs were not suffering as badly as the human first- responders were in the aftermath of their work in the toxic air and rubble of the World Trade Center. The reporter states that some dogs had their feet burned by a “white hot debris”, but she fails to question what the molten debris actaully was.

5 Ballad of Mohammed Atta (6:01) This song came from reading the interviews from Oct 15 & 21, 2001 by Liz Jackson with Ralph Bodenstein and Volker Hauth, two German university friends of Atta who did a study project with him in Cairo, Egypt. The interviews were on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and were posted on the internet. They contrasted sharply with the reports of Daniel Hopsicker in “Welcome To Terrorland”, meaning Florida, where someone named Mohammed Atta partied openly prior to 9/11, and received training at Pensacola US Naval Station and Huffman Aviation.

6 Mad Cowboy Disease (4:27) - A humorous take on the wars, irrationality, brutality, and hubris resulting from the exploitation of 9/11 and other lies. At the inaugeration ball, “There must have been some mad cow on the menu after all!”

7 Ballad of Pat Tillman (5:16) - Shortly after 9/11 the famous Arizona football hero from San Jose, California, enlisted with his brother Kevin in the US Army Rangers. He served in Iraq & Afghanistan before being killed. The Pentagon made up a phony story about Tillman's death to continue to use him as recruitment poster boy. The circumstances of his death became extremely controversial as the Tillman family pressed on for the truth. The story changed from a combat "glory story" to a death by "friendly fire" story. Even later, the Army coroner's report was released to the Associated Press. That report said that Pat Tillman died by "3 bullets to the forehead at 10 yards range". The last story was either greeted with ridicule or completely ignored by the corporate press.

8 Tell John Yoo That Torture Is A Crime! (5:03) - A "folk process" update of the old Civil Rights song, "We Shall Not Be Moved", with Code Pink Golden Gate chorus singing along for torture accountability! Yoo wrote legal briefs to justify torture while on leave from UC Berkeley and in the service of the Bush-Cheney regime's Department of “Justice”.

9 Love Me I'm A Liberal (4:16) – A Vic Sadot update of Phil Ochs' 1966 classic on liberal posturing includes 9/11 themes.

10 Broadside Balladeer (3:55) – A Tribute to the late-great Phl Ochs, who Vic met and interviewed in May of 1973 in Washington, DC after Phil's return from travels in South America where he met Victor Jara. The song was written in 1977, one year after Phil Ochs' death. Ochs had over 70 songs published in Broadside magaaine. Many references to his song titles are weaved into the story. Vic later broke the story of “PHIL OCHS FBI FILE” in Broadside magazine in 1982.

11 Nightmare of New Orleans (3:04) – On August 26, 2005 Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. The "Nightmare of New Orleans" was written by Vic Sadot as a Cajun blues song. Sadot says that the song is about the criminally negligent response to Hurricane Katrina before, during, and after that catastrophe. There were grave warnings of possible disaster for New Orleans in the Times Picayune and National Geographic in the year before the tragic and deadly event. For many Americans, the militarization of the rescue mission was one of the most disconcerting aspects of the Bush-Cheney regime's response to the flooding. FEMA even hired mercenaries from Blackwater to "restore order".

12 London Calling 70705 (4:06) – On the London terror events of July 7, 2005 based on films “Ludicrous Diversion”, “Mind the Gap”, and “7/07 Ripple Effect”. One of the oddest reported matters came from interviews given by Peter Powers of Visor Consultants, a former British Intelligence officer, in which he claimed to have been conducting “drills” for “corporate sponsors” at the very same four locations where the attacks occurred. What are the mathematical odds of that?

13 Are You A Citizen (5:00) – A strident Cajun waltz style salute to struggle co-written with Cindy Hubschmitt. Vic sings and plays acoutstic guitar and Cajun 10 button accordion on this song. The song sweeps through past historical struggles as precidents that show that popular social justice movements can win significant changes and recognition of rights. Rob Sadot plays a masterful guitar!

14 Oh What A Day (4:26) – Written on the day of the Inaugeration of the first Black President of the United States and to celebrate the departure of the Bush-Cheney regime. We were hoping for a “CHANGE” like the Roosevelt's socialist programs known as the “New Deal”. Instead we are getting the policies of the old war profiteering and torture regime instead and more dismantling of the old "New Deal". We need leaders who serve JUSTICE, not those who serve the money masters, media manipulators, and corporate empire representatives who bomb and plunder in our name.

15 Simple Song of Freedom (5:58) – A Vic Sadot update of Bobby Darin's wonderful 1969 anthem to struggle.

16 Ride the Wind (5:33) – This song was originally released as the title cut on a 1988 Crazy Planet Band LP. It was written about children having nightmares about a nuclear holocaust. Time has made this song seem to be more about the “War on Terror”. Either way, there is nowhere to hide. We shall overcome together or not at all!
